Are you looking to discover ground-breaking research, identify key collaborators, and stay ahead of emerging trends in your field? As a PhD student or researcher, we understand that finding the right sources and data is crucial to advancing your work. That’s where Web of Science can make all the difference!

Web of Science is a multidisciplinary database that includes more than 21,000 scholarly journals from all over the world. These journals have been selected based on very strict quality criteria, thus providing reliable information to the research community.

In this session we will cover the following elements:

  1. Citation indexing (concept and history)
  2. Platform overview.
  3. Basic search: search using keywords, author names, and other search terms, and discuss how to refine search results using filters and other techniques (boolean and proximity operators).
  4. Advanced search: more complex searches using field tags (including fields not searchable by basic search), and other advanced search techniques. Save/copy search query for future use.
  5. Cited references search: finding content cited within scholarly articles (including non-scholarly content).
  6. Citation analysis: Perform citation analysis using Web of Science, to identify highly cited articles, authors, and journals, and how to use this information to inform research and funding decisions.
  7. Collaboration analysis: identify research collaboration patterns, including how to identify co-authors and institutional affiliations.
  8. Author Profiles
  9. Alerting and tracking: how to set up alerts and tracking tools in Web of Science, including how to receive email alerts for new publications and citations, and discuss how to use these tools to stay up to date with the latest research in a particular field.

Whether you’re just starting your PhD or are a seasoned researcher, Web of Science is here to support you at every step of your academic journey.

Join the meeting on Tuesday 12 November 2024 from 14h00 to 15h00 (Morocco time, GMT+1).
